David Naranjo is a Chula Vista Police Agent with over nine years of experience in Law Enforcement and over three years of experience on the department’s UAS team. In addition to being a pilot, David has been responsible for the department’s UAS equipment maintenance program for over a year and has assisted in running multiple monthly team trainings. David has his Part 107 license and has logged over 400 hours of flight time with over 2000 Department missions, which include tactical flights, search warrants/SWAT Missions, night flights, and Drone as a First Responder (DFR). In addition, David has handled multiple presentations to the public regarding the Chula Vista Police Department’s UAS program and has engaged in numerous speaking and teaching engagements.

David has completed The Regional Training Center’s Basic, Advanced, Nighttime, and NIST Train the Trainer UAS training courses. David obtained his Skydio professional operator certificates for the Skydio 2 and Skydio X2 in 2021. David has also completed an eight-hour drone assessment and response tactic course.
