Last month, LACRTC was honored to be a part of the Miramar Airshow as they dedicated the event to first responders. We participated as a vendor representing the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) San Diego chapter, along with other vendors in the UAS industry. 

 

This unique opportunity allowed for our team to once again come together to promote and educate the public on how drones are being used for good in public safety. During the 3-day show, we displayed a number of our UAS aircraft and had the ability to fly in the “drone dome” next to our table.

 

Some of the highlights of the weekend included allowing active duty military personnel to fly a UAS for the first time, seeing young kids light up with excitement at the opportunity to hold some of the aircraft, and of course the incredible airshow!  The interactions with these kids and families who were truly interested in UAS technology, only further motivated us to create our own community outreach STEM program.
