Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (sUAV) are powerful tools for first responders.  However, the Federal Aviation Administration limits sUAS use to daylight hours unless certain conditions are met.  In order to be operational 24-hours a day, organizations must acquire a waiver to operate during the hours of darkness.  At a minimum, remote pilots must know the requirements to operate at night; including aircraft equipment.

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Operators Course is a 48-hour program of instruction designed to provide organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to create and implement an aviation program based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms.
