This two-day course was specifically designed for the operational use of the LOKI 2 Tactical UAV.  The RTC with Sky-Hero developed this comprehensive scenario-based, hands-on training to increase aircraft effectiveness and maintain operational function during critical events.

Students will:

  • Set up Ground Control Station (GCS) to maximize customized functionality
  • Demonstrate basic maintenance
  • Demonstrate advanced operational flight skills
  • Explain manufacture recommendations and guidelines
  • Apply flight techniques specifically for the LOKI 2

  • Identify Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs)

This two-day course was specifically designed for the operational use of the LOKI 2 Tactical UAV.  The RTC with Sky-Hero developed this comprehensive scenario-based, hands-on training to increase aircraft effectiveness and maintain operational function during critical events.

Students will:

  • Set up Ground Control Station (GCS) to maximize customized functionality
  • Demonstrate basic maintenance
  • Demonstrate advanced operational flight skills
  • Explain manufacture recommendations and guidelines
  • Apply flight techniques specifically for the LOKI 2
  • Operate LOKI 2 in support of a tactical team
  • Identify Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs)

The curriculum consists of exercises and reality-based scenarios integrating additional overwatch UAVs into the operations. Attendees are exposed to the equipment, tools, and techniques necessary to operate the LOKI 2 in support of a tactical team and leave operationally ready to fly on agency mission sets.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and 3D Mapping software applications are emerging as extremely accurate and efficient tools for crime and accident scene documentation and enhanced investigations.  It is remarkable to consider that if it can be seen with the naked eye, or with magnification, with thermal imagery, or with infrared, it can be almost perfectly preserved forever.  This new technology is changing how we can best serve the public.  In this hands-on course, students will:

  • Explain unmanned aircraft capabilities
  • Describe agency operations and protocols
  • Select UAV-CSI equipment and software
  • Demonstrate crime/accident scene mapping
  • Properly illuminate and map a nighttime scene
  • Demonstrate expert courtroom testimony

Prerequisite: None
Student Requirements: FAA 107 License
Technical Level: Criminalists, Accident Investigators, Detectives, UAS Operators, and Supervisors
 Notes: Start time for Day-2 will be adjusted to allow for nighttime scene lighting and mapping
