AXON AIR EXPANDING PUBLIC SAFETY DRONE PROGRAMS WITH NEW PARTNERSHIPS

Axon Air Powered by DroneSense provides a complete solution for drones in public safety, designed to increase situational awareness and operational efficiency to improve outcomes in some of the most challenging situations. In addition to secure wireless live-streaming, automated flight logs and reporting, integrated evidence management and fully remote operations for Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, today we’re excited to announce new partnerships with Flying Lion, Pilot Institute and The Regional Training Center, further solidifying Axon Air as a comprehensive end-to-end drone platform for public safety.

Earlier this year, we shared that we estimate approximately 20% of U.S. state and local law enforcement agencies have already implemented drone programs to support their communities. We’ve witnessed growing interest in these programs due to their significant public benefits, including search and rescue, de-escalation, natural disaster response and crime and accident scene reconstruction.

Additionally, we’ve observed a remarkable 10x increase in agencies initiating Drone as First Response (DFR) programs. As more agencies seek to integrate DFR, we are committed to providing enhanced solutions, including advanced training and support, to ensure the success of their programs and deployments.

  • Flying Lion is a premier drone service provider for public safety agencies, with expertise in DFR program development and implementation, UAS flight training and FAA consultation. Axon Air Remote customers can now access air support officer/remote operator, remote pilot-in-command (RPIC) and visual observer (VO) staffing services for their DFR operations. Additionally, Flying Lion will provide valuable training and consultation services to support customers in setting up and onboarding their DFR program with Axon Air Remote.

  • Pilot Institute is a prominent provider of online on-demand Part 107, drone hardware, and pilot operational training content. Developed by industry experts, their courses have successfully trained over 250,000 individuals to become proficient airplane and drone pilots. Axon Air is pleased to announce the availability of an on-demand solution for obtaining the FAA Part 107 drone license and enhancing basic and advanced piloting skills. In addition, customers will have access to in-depth training on the most popular drone hardware solutions currently available, as well as Axon software solutions.

  • The Regional Training Center (RTC) is a leading provider of top-tier, cost-effective training for public safety drone operations, having trained over 500 distinct local, state and federal public service agencies in UAS operations. Axon Air is proud to offer a range of training programs, including basic, advanced and specialty drone operational training, utilizing Axon Air software. These training sessions can be conducted in person at the customer agency’s location or at one of the RTC training centers in California, Texas, or Florida. Additionally, The RTC will facilitate Axon Air customer onboarding, accommodating in-person and virtual sessions.

These partnerships expand Axon Air’s professional services offering, providing our customers with all the necessary support, training and resources they need to start and enhance their public safety drone programs, enabling more effective responses and improving outcomes in the communities they serve.

Can AI drones help protect officers in these dangerous times?

Autonomous devices have the potential to be a gamechanger for law enforcement safety and reconnaissance

Tim Martin, Director of UAS Training, The RTC

In the fantasy motion picture “Blade Runner 2049” actor Ryan Gosling portrays a futuristic police officer called a Blade Runner who hunts down human replicant fugitives on a post-apocalyptic Earth. The film is set in 2049 in Los Angeles, where flying cars dominate the sky and advanced technology is everywhere. In the opening scene, Gosling’s character, Officer K, arrives at a secluded farm to locate a replicant fugitive. As he lands his flying car, an unmanned aircraft autonomously launches from the vehicle’s roof and begins a scan ofthe area after being given a simple voice command.

As the hunted fugitive considers his fight or flight options, he looks up at the ominous hovering aircraft. He seemingly knows that running away or avoiding detection is futile, and even more apparent is the critical fact that he has lost the element of surprise. The aircraft appears many times in the movie and utilizes voice commands, a live video feed to the in-car computer, three-dimensional scanning and multiple camera functions, including high-resolution zoom and thermal optics.

The UAS technology available to law enforcement today is a good start, but the future is in autonomy and artificial intelligence (AI), not in manually piloted flight. (Photo/CVPD)

What if the autonomous drone technology of “Blade Runner 2049” emerged from the realm of science fiction and existed in today’s law enforcement toolbox? Could similar vehicle-deployed unmanned aerial systems (UAS) fundamentally change our response to dangerous calls?

Officer K’s artificially intelligent aerial partner is not so far-fetched and could be the answer to reducing officer deaths nationwide.

SkyeBrowse Introduces New Automated Paperwork Tool For Accident Reconstruction

Proprietary factual diagram tool reduces time spent on post-accident paperwork by over 99%

Cranbury, N.J., November 15, 2021 – SkyeBrowse, the fastest and easiest drone reality capture platform, launched a state-of-the-art factual diagram tool, which automates paperwork for accident reconstruction, reducing the time spent by over 99%.

“I’m proud to announce the next stage of SkyeBrowse: automated paperwork for accident reconstruction. Over the past two years, we have mapped out over 4,000 accident scenes, which reduced accident reconstruction, and in turn, traffic by over 20,000 hours,” said SkyeBrowse co-founder and CEO Bobby Ouyang. “However, the pain point of tedious paperwork still exists. Just as we reduce the time spent in the field mapping an accident, our factual diagram tool significantly reduces the time spent on paperwork back in the office.”

This is proprietary technology created by SkyeBrowse to solve the inefficiency of paperwork. The tool makes it possible to generate a factual diagram and measurement report within five minutes. Using the 3D model captured by SkyeBrowse’s drone technology on-site, officers only need to set the reference point and annotations, and the program will automatically take those measurements and generate a full diagram and report. This will save significant time end-to-end from the accident to filing the paperwork. As a result, agencies will see a decrease in response times.

The new tool will be added to SkyeBrowse’s software at no additional charge, thanks to a generous grant from California Office of Traffic Safety. Agencies in California will be able to get SkyeBrowse reconstruction software for free by requesting it from their grant administrators by 1/31/22.
