Payment, Cancellation, Refund & Attendance Policy

Payments

We understand it may take time to process your payment. The RTC will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate your payment policies. In most cases, unless specified otherwise, your registration status will be set to “Approved” pending your payment, and your spot in the course is secured. Payments must be received ten (10) business days before the start of class. If you anticipate a delay in paying your invoice, please contact us at the information below, and we will be happy to arrange a late payment for you.

Late Payments & Fees

A late payment fee of $25 per student will be assessed on all invoices that are 30 days past the start of the class (NOTE: Courses that begin with an online component are based on the online start date). Fees will continue to be assessed at $25 per student at the start of each 30-day period past the course start date until the invoice is paid in full.

Cancellations

If a student cannot attend a training course, please notify RTC staff at least ten (10) business days before the course start date. Cancellations for classes that begin with an online component are based on the online start date.

Cancellations made ten (10) business days before the class start date will be reimbursed in full, minus third-party transaction and/or processing fees incurred by The RTC. Substitutions are permitted with prior approval.  Cancellations made between (10) and (5) business days before the start of the course will be billed at 50% of the tuition cost. Students canceling within (5) business days of the course start date will be billed full tuition. As a courtesy and case-by-case basis, The RTC may allow students to apply 50% of the payment toward a future RTC Training course within one year of the cancellation date.

Students who register for training within the (10) business days before the course start date and who are not substitutions will receive full reimbursement for the tuition paid, minus transaction and/or processing fees incurred by RTC, or will not be billed as applicable.

You may contact us anytime at (888) 782-4969 or by email at support@thertc.org or via the helpdesk.

No Shows

Students who fail to attend without proper advanced notification will be charged full tuition for the course and cannot apply any portion of the tuition toward future training. Students may also be deselected from future course offerings.

Travel, Lodging & Per Diem

For State Law Enforcement Commission (POST/TCOLE) Reimbursable Courses: Student travel and per diem are reimbursable via State Training Reimbursement Request (TRR) for State reimbursable agencies only.

For Non-Reimbursable Courses: Students are responsible for arranging flights, travel to and from class, lodging, and meals. Travel, lodging, and per diem are non-reimbursable unless stated otherwise.

Refunds

Payments via PayPal will be refunded no more than seven (7) days after receiving a cancellation request. Payments made via check, credit card, or cash will be reimbursed within thirty (30) days by check. Cancellations made ten (10) or more days before the start of class will be refunded in full minus transaction and/or processing fees.

Technology & Communication

For courses with an online component, participants are required to have access to a stable internet connection and a device capable of accessing Google Services (Google Chrome, Gmail, and Google Classroom). In case of technical difficulties, participants can contact our support team for help at the information below.

The RTC leverages Google Services for streamlined email correspondence and to facilitate a conducive virtual classroom environment. Login credentials and other essential information for courses with an online component are dispatched to the primary email address provided by the student. These communications often encompass links and images and may be addressed to multiple recipients.

The RTC is not responsible for delays resulting from an organization’s email firewall policies that might hinder the timely receipt of these emails. Therefore, we encourage students to vigilantly monitor their email accounts, including spam folders, to ensure they receive and promptly respond to, all necessary communications about the course’s online segment.

All course materials, content, and teachings are the intellectual property of The RTC. Participants are prohibited from copying, distributing, or using any course content for any commercial purposes without express written permission from The RTC.

Force Majeure Clause

We will make every effort to notify participants in a timely manner and work towards a suitable resolution, which may include rescheduling or refunding the course fees.

Accessibility & Accommodations

The RTC strives to provide an inclusive and accessible learning environment. If you require special accommodations due to a disability or any other reason, please inform us at least ten (10) business days before the course start date so we can make any reasonable arrangements to facilitate your participation.

All participants are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes a respectful and inclusive learning environment. Any harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Participants violating this code may be asked to leave the course without a refund.
